ABOUT THE OWNER
A PASSION FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS
My name is Tanya Rasmussen, owner of Evolve Fitness. I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and what led me to open this women’s fitness studio.
I have always loved moving and being active. I danced my whole life, even teaching jazz, ballet, and hip hop classes during college. After graduating from the University of Utah in Health Promotion and Education, I headed across the Pacific to BYU-Hawaii to earn a teaching certificate in secondary education. Then I moved back to Utah and taught health and P.E.—as well as coached the dance team—at American Preparatory Academy, a charter school in West Valley.
For 5 years before opening Evolve I ran a dance and fitness studio from my home. Being an in-home studio has lots of limits, so I started to look for a commercial space where I could expand and create the group fitness experience this area has been waiting for. I've lived in North Lehi for 6 years, and I'm basically creating what I (and many people I talk to) want to see here.
Exercise has become more important than ever as I've gone through pregnancies and am raising my two young boys. Working out gives me energy, makes me happier, and is such a great way to meet like-minded people and be part of a community. My goal since the beginning has been to create a community where people of all walks of life can come together to work hard, have fun, and see results. I combined my dance studio with Elevate Dance Academy, which shares the space with Evolve Fitness.
My husband and I have been married for 12 years (and counting). In my free time I love being outdoors, running, traveling, and searching every corner of Utah for the best Diet Coke brew. I can't wait to get to know all of you better as we continue building this amazing community of strong women together!
